Beta carotene as retinol equivalent (RAE)
Beta carotene is one of the secondary plant substances and is found in all plants exposed to light to protect against photo-oxidative processes. It belongs to the group of provitamin A carotenoids because it can be converted into vitamin A in the human organism.
Provitamin A carotenoids such as beta-carotene interact with other food ingredients in the body and have different bioavailability and conversion rates into the active form of vitamin A, retinol.
This vegan food supplement from ViVe Supplements contains 15 mg of beta carotene per soft capsule. This corresponds to 2.5 mg of retinol equivalent (RAE) or 8333 IU of vitamin A.
Recommended consumption:
Adults take 1 softgel daily with a meal and plenty of water.
